Celebrating La Mercè

Written by Núria Araguas. Posted in ES CSCS, Spanish-Catalan Studies

For La Mercè, Barcelona gets ready for a big celebration with all kind of traditions such as human towers or Castellers, the Gegants or Giants’ parade, the correfoc, the typical dance of  Sardana and the amazing closing of the festivity with the Piromusical fireworks. We were watching different videos about La Mercè and exploring together the program, making sure students knew about all the different options that the city was offering during those days.

Students elaborated a craft project, designing miniatures of their own giants.
