Grade 1 Storquilts

Written by Tiffany Emerick. Posted in 1st Grade Art, ES Art

In first grade we read the book Tar Beach by Faith Ringold.  We then created our own story quilts, telling a story about something we’ve done or would like to do in the future.  They then design patterns for their own paper quilt to frame their story!

Welcome to ES Art, where we use a variety of mediums and creative problem solving to explore, learn about and express ourselves through art! In all grades we begin the school year by participating in the project ‘Pinwheels for Peace’. If you click on ‘locations’ you’ll see all of the schools around the world who participate in the project, including BFIS! http://www.pinwheelsforpeace.com/
