New Tutoring Options!

Written by Paul Fulce. Posted in MS/HS Principal

We have expanded our tutoring support on campus!  This year, for ease of use and campus safety, our outside tutoring options are being run through the After School Activities program.  We have contracted two excellent tutoring services,  Bee Tutored and AE Teaching, who are available to tutor in many different disciplines and times, including during your student’s free periods (depending on approval and availability).  Please reach out to Bea Zimmerman with any questions or to sign up (

Because of this new offering, we will no longer be allowing outside tutors, who are not associated with these two programs, to work on campus at any time.  Of course, our teachers are still available for extra tutoring of students they do not teach.  Please reach out to Learning Support or a teacher directly for help with these arrangements.

Summer Reading Lists!

Written by Paul Fulce. Posted in MS/HS Principal

Mr. Cevoli, in consultation with the Heads of Department, has created recommended summer reading lists for both the MS and the HS, which are organized by subject area. These dynamic lists include a load of exciting, new titles and some classics, as well. Many of the books were selected for their direct connection to curricular topics, and they reflect global mindedness and numerous traits from the IB Learner Profile. Print copies are available in the library. Digital copies may be downloaded here. While these books are not required reading, we highly recommend that students delve into some of these titles over the long break from school. Happy reading, and enjoy the summer!

Grade 8 Moving On Ceremony

Written by Paul Fulce. Posted in MS/HS Principal

Monday, June 20th: Auditorium 18:00.

We are delighted to be celebrating the “Moving On Ceremony” for students who will be completing 8th grade this year.  We will celebrate this milestone in the BFIS Auditorium.  After the ceremony, an informal buffet (of pica pica and drinks) will be hosted by the Middle School Academic Team for 8th grade students, and their families and friends. Be advised that guests should plan to arrive early, as parking is often limited. Please note that students in Grade 8 (only) will be dismissed at 1PM on June 20th and will need to report back to school at 17:00.
