New ES Building almost ready

Written by Charo Rodriguez. Posted in Campus Improvements, ES Building Progress

IMG_8178Our new elementary building is nearing completion. Thanks to the collective work of many people, including dedicated and strategic leadership from the Foundation Board, we can say that we  have successfully completed the biggest construction project in the history of the school. The building is almost ready to accommodate our students and faculty and everything will be in place to start the new school year on September 1st.

Most of the furniture for the new building was already delivered and the desks are assembled and in classrooms. The boxes from the modules on both the ES and MS/HS have been be moved into the new rooms and this will allow cleaning crews to do a thorough clean of the entire school, Nursery-12, in preparation for the start of school.  This week has also seen the IT Department working very hard installing the Fiber Optic cables in the new building and moving all school servers to a more central location in order for improved internet connectivity throughout the campus. They have also been installing the projectors in classroom and conference rooms.

We think you all will be very excited about the final product. The classrooms are big and with tons of natural light, the staircase is wide enough for students to enter and exit the building easily and although the new lunchroom in the basement and ground floor will be finished at a future time we can already see the potential of those areas.

Very soon, we will feel settled and happy in our new home.

Laying the foundations

Written by Charo Rodriguez. Posted in Campus Improvements, ES Building Progress, Uncategorized

Now that excavation works are finished, it is the time to lay the foundations of the new ES Building. During the following three weeks the construction company will work on pouring layers of concrete and building the pillars of the building.
As we are sure, you would have noticed the big tower crane that has been installed on campus. This crane will be used by construction crews to lift building materials only within the construction area.
