Responsibility is doing the things we are supposed to do, and accepting the positive or negative outcome of our actions.   It is being in control of your own behavior, being trusted with important jobs, finishing the work you start and doing your part when working together.

Authors often use the theme of responsibility in their writing.  These books are excellent examples of the positive or negative outcome of a charcater’s actions.
