In March, Grade 5 students will begin their class discussions about adolescence and puberty.  At home, the first step in starting a conversation with your Grade 5 child about growing up is to choose a good time to talk. An excellent way to start that conversation is by talking about books.  Here are some excellent books that will provide your child with a practical guide to puberty and adolescence, as well as some award winning fiction around this theme.  These books are all available in our Elementary Library.  These books are specifically targeted for young teens and are sensitive to their needs.  However, please let me know if you would prefer not to have any of these books available to your child or would prefer to read them first before your child checks them out.
