IB Students-All you need to know about CAS

Written by Paul Fulce. Posted in MS/HS Principal

Dear Students,

Welcome back to BFIS.

You will find the CAS handbook attached here (CAS HANDBOOK). Please take the time to read through it as it outlines all of the CAS expectations and deadlines.

For those of you in G12 who had Ms Debora as your CAS advisor last year, please note that she´ll still be your advisor.

If you are in G11, you´ll be notified via email to let you know who will be overseeing your CAS activities this year.

I have posted physical copies of schedules for the G11 CAS/ManageBac training on the noticeboard outside of my room, 6304, as well as Mr. Fulce´s office.

If you have any questions regarding CAS activities and projects you could get involved in, please come and see me. My office hours are every day except Wednesday during HS lunch and from 8.30 till 9 a.m.

I look forward to working with you this year.

Best,

Ms. Cevoli

ES New Student Lunch

Written by Makiko M. Posted in Elementary School, ES Counselor

We are excited to see so many new faces at BFIS this year and we would like to welcome each and every one of them to a great and diverse learning community! We hope to make the transition to BFIS as smooth as possible for all of our new students.

All new students in K-5th grade are invited to have lunch with the ES principal and ES counselor during the second and third week of September. The new student lunches will take place during regular lunchtime. This will be a great opportunity for new students to get to know other new students, share about their move to Barcelona, and ask any questions about BFIS!

The moment our students and families arrived on campus, BFIS finally felt like a school once again.  After weeks of faculty professional development, setting up classrooms, and extensive construction projects, the year is under way and it feels wonderful!

EC PatioThere is nothing quite like hearing the morning buzz on campus before the bell rings on the first day.  The endless smiles and warm embraces exchanged after the summer holiday point to the excitement that everyone feels to be reunited as a community.  I never cease to be amazed by the joy and sense of connection we experience at BFIS.

On behalf of the ES faculty, I wish all of you a fabulous start to the 2014-2015 year and look forward another year of learning alongside one another.
